About Dale
The story behind Detailed by Dale — 15 years of passion, precision and paint correction in Atherstone, Warwickshire.
15+ years.
One obsession.
Detailed by Dale is built on a simple principle: every vehicle deserves to look its absolute best — and every customer deserves honest, expert advice without the bull.
Dale Payne has been working in the automotive paint industry for over 15 years. What started as a deep passion for paint chemistry and precision correction grew into a full-time, dedicated studio in Atherstone, Warwickshire — one that carries a 5-star rating across 167+ verified reviews.
Dale is also an accredited ceramic coating trainer for the Midlands (CFC), having trained detailers across the region. The studio regularly collaborates with specialist engineering centres including Center Gravity (Porsche suspension & geometry) and Ed Watson Classic Car Restorations on concours-level handovers.
The studio is proudly and deliberately independent. Dale is not tied down to any single manufacturer, choosing instead to test and select the absolute best formulations for each individual vehicle — including CarPro, Gtechniq, Ceramic Pro, and Pyramid Car Care.
"We treat every customer as friends — from the initial inspection to regular progress photos and the final handover." And when he's not in the studio under the daylight hex lights, Dale enjoys riding motorbikes and a classic cheese sandwich.

The Detailed by Dale
Philosophy
Independent & Unbiased
We are never tied to a single chemical brand or manufacturer. We continuously evaluate and test leading ceramic formulations and PPF films to choose what genuinely delivers the deepest gloss and strongest protection for your specific clear coat.
Bespoke Every Time
No two paint systems behave alike. Paint thickness, factory hardness, and defect depth vary dramatically. Every single commission begins with microscopic paint depth measurement and an honest consultation tailored directly to your vehicle.
Complete Transparency
You are part of the transformation from start to finish. We document before-and-after defect readings, high-resolution progress updates, and full maintenance guidance so you always know exactly how your car is being perfected.
